easyDITA 19.8 Release Notes

easyDITA 19.8 introduces improvements to the collaborative content editor.

The updated easyDITA fixes issues with branching and releasing content and includes improvements to the Static Site Generator (SSG) and PDF Generator.

Content Editor


  • You can now edit map element attributes in a dedicated pop-up dialog.

  • The map tree shows the <title> and <navtitle> element values now.

  • Added the insert figure button to the editor toolbar.

  • You can now change the type of a map element by using the element name label.

  • You can now copy an element with an @id attribute assigned and paste it as a content reference.

  • You can alphabetize terms in definition lists now.

  • Cite elements are italicized now.

  • You can add tooltip comments in the DITA source now.

  • Conditional processing attributes are correctly indicated in the editor now.

  • In the map tree, fixed the hover-over icons behavior.

  • Fixed the Replace Element option.

  • Fixed an issue that resolved a suggestion when you pasted some content into it.

  • Fixed an issue with resolving suggestions by using the right-click context menu.

  • Elements copied from and pasted to the same resource do not retain their @id attributes anymore.



  • When you open a PDF Generator scenario, instead of the Cover Page HTML tab, the CSS tab opens.

  • You can publish multilingual maps with the PDF Generator now.

  • The Static Site Generator (SSG) supports conditional processing now.

    You can use SSG bundles for local SSG templates development.

  • Conditional map titles are now properly rendered in the PDF Generator output.

  • The PDF Generator no longer imports /* commented-out */ imports.

  • Publishing a PDF comparison no longer breaks XML.

  • Suggested changes are no longer included in the output.

Content Library


  • You can now customize columns in the content library based on metadata.

    Note: By default, this feature is disabled. To enable this feature, contact your Customer Success Manager.
  • Redesigned the Download option in the resource context menu.



  • You can no longer release resources that link to resources in Trash.

  • Branches created from releases are correctly shown in the Branching tab now.

  • Branch names are case insensitive now.

    For example, if “Branch_A” already exists, you cannot create “branch_a”.

  • Resources with changed metadata are correctly merged now.

  • Fixed issues with branching filters.

  • Fixed issues with content key references (conkeyrefs) in merged topics.
